4 Ways Meditation Supports Weight Loss
The three pillars I’ve built my weight loss on are meals, mindset and movement and I cannot emphasise enough the importance of that middle pillar of ‘Mindset’.

Your mental health will support you every step of the way and the strength of your mindset will correlate directly with you successfully achieving your goals. And that is why we meditate!
Here’s 4 ways meditation supports successful, natural weight loss:

Calms your nervous system
Meditation helps us to relax by activating the parasympathetic nervous system. It helps to reduce stress, improve sleep and lower heart rate and blood pressure. Awareness and emotional regulations can also be enhanced by meditation-induced calm.

Helps decrease binge and emotional eating
Research shows that using mindful meditation can help to decrease binge eating and emotional eating with evidence suggesting that mindfulness-based interventions are effective treatments for disordered eating.

Reduces cortisol
A recent meta-analysis found that generalised meditation helped reduce cortisol, blood pressure and heart rate, and on the whole, leads to decreased physiological markers of stress.

Presence = improved relationship with food
Meditation guides us to sit with and observe our emotions, without passing judgment, to improve our relationship with food.
